Just 2 days

I had predicted 2 weeks after school began for the kids to adjust, make friends and start the typical comings and goings of teenage life. Seems I overestimated. It took just 2 days.

I spent a very peaceful Friday night home alone. Both the kids had sleepovers. With their new BFF's.

Boo and T had the slight advantage of being placed on the same soccer team. We discovered that T's family lives on our street. After about 2 weeks of them both separately riding past each others home, too shy to knock on the door, they finally exchanged numbers at practice with plans to go swimming. Now, several sleep overs, bike rides around town and a couple hundred games of billiards later...they are inseparable. Today they are at the water park. Certain to be scoping out the hottest girls. T's dad told me recently that they moved the end of last year to our neighborhood. He wasn't sure why because their old house was within walking distance of the soccer fields and now they had a 10 min drive. I told him I was sure they moved so that our boys could find each other and get to be friends.

B only met Rae in person 2 days ago. But it has been in the works for a couple weeks as well. Rae's mom is a manager at our grocery store. We met her when filling out our frequent flyer grocery card. She and I hit it off quickly. They moved here a year ago from Chicago. Mom basically wanted to get the kids away from the ugliness they had going in Chicago. Come to find out they live in the neighborhood next to ours. She took B's online info and was going to share it with Rae when she got home. I was skeptical how two teenage girls were going to feel about being hooked up by their moms at the Piggly Wiggly. The girls have messaged back and forth a few times since then and met in person at school yesterday. Rae called last night and invited B for a sleepover. A couple of her GF's from school were going to be there as well. It was nice to have Rae's mom come by to pick up B. They hung out for awhile, with much eye rolling from the girls. But I think they are just going to have to get over it, cause their moms want to be friends too. When B called this morning to tell me she was staying there the rest of the day and maybe even again tonight, she said that her and Rae will be BFF's if they aren't already. Rae was chiming in her agreement in the background. Lori doesn't know it, but her move last year was for our daughters.

Today I am cleaning house, just me and the fuzzies. Which I must add are most responsible for me having to clean today. Ugh, hair hair! I wanna shave em both bald! But I am listening to MY music and dancin my booty around the house. I have been 2 months without being alone. I love my family, but solitude does have it charms occasionally. Wanna get the chores done today so I can play some WoW tomorrow without feeling guilty hehe

Speaking of bald.. my hunka bald beach v-ball hotty won the gold. WTG Phil and Todd!!! Awesome work. Just sad that I won't get my daily dose of eye candy.

At least not until Wednesday night, when MY bald hunka hunka hubby is FINALLY coming home!! I am beside myself with excitement for so many reasons. #1 being my own selfish need to have him here. But also excited for him. Quitting his crappyass job finally. Having the kids here with him. Getting to come enjoy our gorgeous new home and community. It isn't the same without him here. It just isn't.

Next weekend is Labor Day. Boo's birthday and mine too, although I would like to forget that part. We get to celebrate by discovering a new part of our home state. Travelin to Greenville for a soccer tournie. I am way excited, especially now that daddy will be with us. I have heard nice things about Upstate. Mountains and greenness. Will be fun to see the boys playin soccer in real games. This is their first. They have done well in scrimmages against other club teams. I am also looking forward to getting to know some of the parents. We seem to make friends with other soccer families. Probably due to the like nature of our lifestyles. So far, everyone has been very welcoming and friendly. So it should be a great weekend all around.

I am happy to be at a stage in my life where I can look beyond the superficial and enjoy the way our lives are unfolding. The butterfly effect of it all. How people from what seemed like far away places a year ago, have been placed in our paths to discover.

I need #3 and not gonna pay hard back prices. Yet anyway. that may change in about 450 pages hehe
